Dissident Designs is a collaboration of two friends in east Vancouver, BC.  We believe in DIY lifestyles, non-conformism, anti-capitalism and environmentalism and use this in creating unique and edgy punk rock clothing, jewelry, accessories and art. Everything is made with the individual in mind: Producing creations that are original, one of a kind, and made with love and awareness.  We welcome and encourage all individuals to further educate members in social issues and solutions by writing in our blogs.  Thanks for checking us out!

Sharona grew up in Calgary, Ab.  It was there that she learnt the foundations for what would later be her career of choice.  As a young girl Sharona enjoyed doing anything creative, whether it be learning to sew by watching her grandmother or doing all sorts of various crafts with her mother.  She spent a lot of time back and forth between Vancouver and Calgary in her early 20’s before finally settling down in Victoria where she got married and had a son named Styles.  Although she still loves punk rock, she spends less time at shows; preferring to stay true to her punk rock ethics in the way she lives her life and  creates her clothing, jewelry and accessories.

Alisin is originally from the county Glengarry of Eastern Ontario, where her first memories are of walking through the woods and down the farm lane to watch the goats giving birth, and of growing up drawing and painting with her brothers and sisters. Moving to Vancouver, BC in the fall of 2000, she continued to develop her artistic skills in school and out. Alisin enjoys everything from all types of printmaking, to watercolours and inks, to punk rock poster design and custom painting on leather or canvas, to D.I.Y. clothing and accessories. Alisin is also an aspiring tattoo artist.
